30th: 140 Pink-footed Geese flying south over Treshnish wood and surrounds
1+ male Broken-belted Bumblebee at Treshnish Old Schoolhouse
1 probable Eristalinus aeneus

29th: 66 Pink-footed Geese flying south over Treshnish wood and surrounds

28th: 1 Painted Lady at West cottage, Haunn
1 dead Red Wasp (confirmed) at West cottage, Haunn
1 dead Pollenia fly in East cottage, Haunn

27th: 4 Swallows at Treshnish House (in am in barn and in pm outside)
1 dead Red Wasp (confirmed) Studio
Aurora at 11pm

24th: 1 probable Eriozona syrphoides at Treshnish Old Schoolhouse. This is a Nationally Scarce species although it has been recorded near Oban by Carl Farmer. I am pretty sure with the yellow face that my id is correct.

1 probable female Syrphus ribesii at Treshnish Old Schoolhouse.

2 male Broken-belted Bumblebees at Treshnish Old Schoolhouse.

22nd: Swallows adults with 2 fledglings in old barn, Treshnish House

20th: 1 male Bloomed or Common Furrow Bee at cliff b to south of Ensay Burn mouth.

Possible Eupeodes luniger at cliff to west of Ensay Burn mouth which would be a new species for Treshnish (so far I have only ever seen Eupeodes corollae which is common).

19th: 1 Turnstone at Treshnish boathouse (rare at Treshnish although regular at Lainne Sgeir, Calgary).
3 fledgling Swallows being fed by at least 1 adult at Treshnish Old Schoolhouse.

12+ Redpoll at Treshnish Old Schoolhouse.

17th: 2 Swallows feeding nestlings at Treshnish House.
Stags heard rutting on Ensay.

15th: 1 queen Buff-tailed Bumblebee (form with buff-tail) in outhouse at Treshnish Old Schoolhouse but it got out before I managed a photo.

1 male Broken-belted Bumblebee (confirmed) at Treshnish Old Schoolhouse.

Probable male and female Bloomed Furrow Bees near Treshnish wood Nissen hut.

Possible Forest Cuckoobee at Treshnish wood waterfall.

1 probable male Smooth-faced Furrow Bee and 1 small metallic furrow bee at Treshnish wood waterfall (prob Turquoise or White-footed Furrow Bee)

13th: 1 juvenile Golden Eagle seen with adult from second nearest pair.

9th: 1 probable male Smooth-faced Furrow Bee somehow got into our living room.

At least 20 Buff-tip caterpillars in front of Treshnish Old Schoolhouse. I have only seen the larvae once before on Ulva on 18th Aug 2007.

1st: At least 2 Swallows still around.

We had a sunny spell so had a look for Heather Colletes on the heather near the Nissen hut in Treshnish wood. I have only seen it twice once in 2017 and once in 2018. I can’t be looking in the right places. I didn’t find it but i did see furrow bees including what is probably Smooth-faced Furrow Bees mating.

and this is probably a female although Bloomed Furrow Bee also occurs here but I didn’t see any male red furrow bees today.
