30th: Pretty sure this the other bird of the nearest pair of Golden Eagles. I think this is the male but I haven;t seen both in the air together for size comparison, This one looks to me like it has attained full adult plumage. The immature bird which I think is the female has very scraggy breast feathers. If I have the sexes right then this is probably the same pair as last year.

28th: The nearest Golden Eagle pair have moved 1km to the southeast. I think they are sitting on eggs as I haven’t seen the pair in the air together. One of them is incredibly young only 2 or 3 years old.

27th: 2 Short-eared Owls over Reudle Schoolhouse bog. There was some interaction but I wasn’t sure if it was aggressive or courtship. A little later one was displaying over the bog area and to the north. It was high circling with deep wing beats, calling and wing clapping.
Very close encounter with immature White-tailed Eagle but the sun was already down.
